Restored Emmert

Model No. 4a

This is another wonderful restoration performed by my good friend and wonderful woodworker, Casimiro Sousa.

 

Before

Based on the bench mounting method of this vise, we can tell that it is an early version. This one has a single bolt hole with a large wing nut. Unfortunately the wing nut has been broken and only part of it remains. Later types had the more common swivel base with 3 bolt holes to attach to the bench.
